Barrowby Stud and Connemaras

Our reputation for good quality and well educated Connemara's can mean that we do not always have stock available to buy.

Currently (February 2023) we do not have any stock available for sale until our 2023 foals are born. 

We begin foaling in March and we have 10 mares due to foal. 

We do not sell our foals before they are here and healthy but you can register your interest at anytime and when the foals are born we will contact you.

There is already a significant wait list for our 2023 foals so it is never too soon to contact us. 

The terms for purchasing a foal upon agreeing a sale is £500 deposit and the remainder balance by the 1st of the month that the foal is due to be weaned (6months) 

each foal will have been timely de wormed and attended to by the farrier and will be eating meal and settled following the weaning process, travelling is a normal experience for the foals whilst they are at the foot of their dams. An invoice with terms of the sale will be issued before you pay a deposit, we will chose the most suitable home that we feel at the time is in the best interest of each foal. We will ask for details on how your foal would be living with you, there are no right or wrong answers here but we would try to create as similar environment as possible at weaning to ensure that the transition of moving homes is smooth. 

Naming a foal - we try to be as amenable as possible but we do like to chose our own passport names for the foals, 

we will keep our pet names to ourselves should you wish to give them your own stable name.

Sold foals are not vaccinated by us but we are happy to start the vaccination course at 6 months at the purchasers expense.  

All foals are parentage DNA & HWSD tested, microchipped and passported with BCPS.

We are happy for additional DNA tests via hair samples to be taken prior to agreeing to a sale, at the expense of the potential purchaser.
